Representatives from Hamptons City Beach visited Rockingham last week to view sites for potential investment.

The Telegraph reported last week the owners of the successful Perth restaurant and bar were interested in opening a second venue in Rockingham.

Owner Marcel Slobe said he would like to replicate the restaurant he had at City Beach in Rockingham and mentioned the potential Port Rockingham Marina site as of interest. Marina proponent Paul Ogilvie plans to build a $35 million, 500 boat-pen facility at Wanliss Street that would have about 4500sqm of retail space.

Mr Slobe and business partner Craig Shearer were in Rockingham to look at sites along the foreshore last Wednesday and both said they were impressed with what the city had to offer.

Mr Slobe reiterated his excitement over a potential venue that took in the advantage of Rockingham’s northfacing beach. The pair met with Rockingham Kwinana Chamber of Commerce chief executive Tony Solin, who said any future investment would be welcomed by the business community.
