Southern Telegraph - - Opinion -

A Rockingham police officer was attacked with a samurai sword in a high-profile incident on Parkin Street last Wednesday.

Residents expressed their thoughts on the Telegraph’s Facebook page in the aftermath.

This is disgusting, please put the person responsible for this horrible act in jail forever. Dellas Ritchie

Great to hear that the police officer is making a good recovery. Sandra Keating

The charges should also include attempted murder. Andre Karen Robert

What is wrong with people? It is seriously not ok to intentionally hurt another person. I hope the police officer is doing ok; he was simply doing his job. Amanda Dawn

So scary, all the best for the officer's recovery. Thankful for police and the dedication they put in to making our streets safer. Kirsten Kerrisk
