Pinjarra too strong for Hillman in U13 clash
Round 3 of the Peel Junior Cricket Association season got under way over the weekend despite ominous clouds on Saturday morning.
In the under-13s, Pinjarra juniors took on the Hillman Hornets at Murray Country Estate in Pinjarra.
Hillman batted first and were bowled out for 90, with Matthew Avery top scoring for the Hornets with 18 not out, while Taj Mills was the pick of the bowlers for Pinjarra, taking an impressive 4-10.
In reply, Pinjarra cruised to 6-137, with Riley Arrowsmith and Kyan Wopereis leading the way with 30 and 24 not out respectively.
Matthew Whittleton and Deegan Stone were the pick of the bowlers, taking 1-2 and 1-5.
In the under-14s, Shoalwater Bay took on Secret Harbour Dockers Purple at Stan Twight Reserve.
Shoalwater batted first and posted 8-136 from 32 overs, with Riley Carrol top scoring with 24 not out.
In reply, Shoalwater bowled Secret Harbour out for 124 thanks to Tyler Gaske (3-29), Joel Richards (2-4) and Ryan Crews (1-6).
On Sunday morning Warnbro Swans hosted White Knights Baldivis at Warnbro Rec Reserve.
The Swans batted first and posted 87 thanks to an impressive 43 not out from Brodie Cheater.
For Baldivis, Caleb Langan took 3-7, Jordan Crudeli 2-9 and Reid Stewart 2-11.
In reply, the White Knights cruised to victory at 1-297 thanks to an impressive 52 from Reid Stewart who was supported well by Jordan Crudeli (42no) and Caleb Ramsay (33no).
In the under-17s, Halls Head hosted Secret Harbour Dockers at Peelwood Reserve. Halls Head batted first and posted a solid 189 thanks to 61 from Jack Sears from 33 balls. In reply Secret Harbour fell short of the total, being bowled out for 116 from 31 overs.
