Groom now for the summer

Southern Telegraph - - Local Business Update -

As summer fast approaches, now is a good time to get your furry friend groomed and ready for the warmer weather.

The Pampered Pup Salon in Waikiki provides an individualised approach to each pooch to ensure they are left not only looking great, but feeling great too.

Groomer Tara Altmann uses skin-sensitive products, including oatmeal shampoo and sea kelp conditioner with coconut and jojoba oils, leaving the coat and skin rejuvenated and moisturised.

For breeds that are not normally shaved, Ms Altmann can also make them more comfortable in summer through the use of a de-shedding brush, which removes the excess undercoat accumulated over winter.

Spring and summer also means fleas are more active.

The Pampered Pup Salon makes made-to-measure Baltic amber collars.

When worn by your pet, their body heat and friction releases a slight resinous smell from the amber, which can repel ticks and fleas, and a small static electric current so the ticks and fleas just can’t hold on.

Ms Altmann said amber collars make great Christmas presents for your fur babies too, which includes coloured pendants.

Since opening just over four weeks ago, Ms Altmann said she has had an amazing response from the community and lovely feedback on the business’ Facebook page.

“I want to thank my wonderful new clients for supporting my business when it started and the awesome people who have referred my business through to other people,” she said.
