Riders rev festive spirit
Up to 700 motorcyclists are set to hit the road to share in the Christmas spirit, with the annual Motorcycle Charity Toy Ride set to roll through the Peel region on Saturday, December 9.
Now in its 26th year, the ride will see hundreds of motorcyclists donate toys, money and food parcels to those in need across the region.
The event, which initially started as a hugely successful toy ride for disadvantaged children, has evolved as requests for food parcels have grown increasingly in recent years.
Harley-Davidsons, Spyders and custom trikes are all set to be on display during the muchloved ride, which is set to begin in Pinjarra at Sir Ross McClarty Oval at 10am.
Santa is set to lead the ride, which will drive down Dixon Avenue then on to Forrest Street, before turning into Pinjarra Road and heading towards the Mandurah foreshore. The ride will finish on the Western Foreshore about 11.30am, where there will be a sausage sizzle, raffles, music and stalls.
Those with a motorbike who are interested in taking part can contact [email protected] hotmail.com.
Alan Bennett and Santa, aka Bill Philip, had a great time delivering gifts on the motorcycle run last year.
