The friendly, caring and experienced GP obstetricians and midwives at Woodbridge Women’s Clinic can assist patients from pre-conception to postnatal care.
Mums and mums-to-be will be under the care of the clinic’s midwives or one of the four GP obstetricians, Dr Edward Bouverie, Dr Rebecca Pogson, Dr Genevieve Hankey and Dr Raquel Diego.
The midwives and GPs all actively work at Rockingham General Hospital and are equipped to cater for the unique, complex and diverse pregnancy needs which may arise.
The clinic offers antenatal classes and breastfeeding classes and the staff have the expertise to guide patients through every aspect of their pregnancy.
Topics covered in the antenatal class include labour, delivery and post-natal care.
At the breastfeeding clinics, new mums or mums-to-be will have the opportunity to speak with a qualified lactation consultant. Postnatal care will involve checks after the baby is born to make sure both mum and bub are doing well and provide the encouragement and support new mums need.
Things that might be discussed include feeding a baby, immunisations, pap smears and contraception.
The women’s clinic also offers pap smears, sexual health checks and advice on menopause.
Doctors are also able to discuss contraception including, the pill, Implanon rod or Mirena IUD.
