Montes­sori stu­dents show off their artis­tic tal­ents

Stu­dents from Rock­ing­ham Montes­sori School cel­e­brated the end of term with a pub­lic ex­hi­bi­tion at the Gary Hol­land Cen­tre, show­cas­ing stu­dent tal­ent.

The whole school was in­volved in the project, with works rang­ing from wood­work to paint­ings, ear­lier this month.

Rock­ing­ham Montes­sori School pro­gram co-or­di­na­tor Asti Jor­gensen said it was the school’s first pub­lic art ex­hi­bi­tion.

“It’s a great op­por­tu­nity to show­case stu­dent work from through­out the year,” Ms Jor­gensen said. “Each stu­dent is unique and by dis­play­ing the art­work, par­ents and the pub­lic were able to see the unique tal­ents of the stu­dents.”

Stu­dent Sa­muel Riedel cre­ated a piece which in­volved string art and wood. “I had a lot of fun,” he said. The ex­hi­bi­tion ran from De­cem­ber 5-12.
