Missing woman’s husband seeks review

Southern Telegraph - - News - Rebecca Nicholls

The husband of missing Kwinana mother of three Iveta Mitchell has broken years of silence, to call for a cold case review into her disappearance.

Chad Mitchell says he is hoping the review will mean he can move on, almost eight years after his 37year-old wife disappeared.

“We looked into every avenue and we just don’t know anymore,” he said. “We just want to know either way.”

Ms Mitchell left her Parmelia home in 2010 after a fight with her husband and was last seen walking across a nearby park on Meares Avenue. She was reported missing the next day.

Ms Mitchell’s wedding rings, which Mr Mitchell wears every day, were found on their front door mat a fortnight later. A search of bushland, a quarry and rubbish tip, where Mr Mitchell used to work, soon after the disappearance turned up nothing.

Police raided the family’s home weeks later, and charged Mr Mitchell with receiving stolen property.

Police Minister Michelle Roberts said the case was an active and open investigation.
