Healthy interest in practice seminars
Samy Medical Practice is no ordinary medical centre. It is a family practice operating on family values that ensures you and your family receive high-quality care at bulk-billing rates.
The team is proud to associate with patron Caroline Hume in the Healthy Living for Diabetics program, a social initiative that began last week and will help 40 diabetics holistically manage their condition.
The program, which started with a seminar on nutrition by Breanne Roy, is managed by Professor Dr Martin Samy and dedicated health professionals, including GP Dr Christabel Samy, pharmacist Animesh Chatterjee, personal trainer Hayden Dodson, and nutritionist Ms Roy.
The team will provide holistic monitoring and management through exercise, regular medical checks, medication review and nutrition consultation.
The practice also has free health seminars this month.
Participants can listen to Dr David Rock speak about depression and suicide, with the seminar to give insight into community-based integrated approaches that work in the real world.
A second seminar on osteoporosis from Dr Rob Wills will also be held at the practice. Osteoporosis is a dilapidating condition where people are more likely to break bones even from the gentlest of falls.
It develops commonly in both men and women, yet has no visible symptoms, with risk increasing the older a person becomes.
By being aware of your bone density, Dr Wills’ seminar will help you prevent this disease from negatively affecting your health.
Samy Medical Practice is at 17 Attwood Way, Rockingham.
