Strong focus on community needs
For more than 30 years the Rockingham community has been guided through their health needs by family-owned and operated general practice Read Street Medical and Skin Centre.
With a variety of special interest areas among the highly experienced GPs, the centre has a strong focus on meeting the growing needs of the community.
Over the past few years the services within the centre have increased.
From Monday to Friday the centre operates skin cancer and skin check bookings with Dr Wee, who has a particular interest in skin concerns.
“Not only do we help to treat these issues, but we also make sure we take the time to educate our patients on the prevalence of skin cancer,” Dr Wee said.
“Education and prevention is of the utmost importance when it comes to the patient’s long-term health.”
Working closely with TerryWhite Chemmart Rockingham — Read Street for several years, the pharmacists often refer skin care patients, among many more, to the clinic communicating often to support patient care.
Along with skin care services, the centre provides everything from cosmetic facial treatments, acupuncture treatments, women and children’s healthcare, management of complex and chronic needs, ear care treatment and more.
Once a month the centre collaborates with Australian Hearing to provide free hearing assessments which, when necessary, is followed up by free support to the over-65s.
New patients are always welcome with appointments available from 8am to 6.30pm weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.
Appointments for valid aged pension concession card holders and children under 16 are bulk-billed.
