Seniors safety alert for peace of mind
Giving peace of mind to seniors and their families, the alert pendant is the means to ensure your loved ones are notified in the event of an injury or emergency.
The device, serviced through a SIM card, allows five contacts to be added, and when the button on the device is pressed, each contact is texted and then called.
Whether it is used in case of a fall or a more serious situation, the alert pendant includes a simple one-button design which the user just has to hold down and the device will notify their loved ones.
When the button is pressed, the contacts will also receive a GPS reading of where the person is, helping locate them quickly in cases where people may be lost.
The device also includes a two-way speech function, allowing people to communicate with each other.
It is also waterproof and has a falldown function.
Sold locally by Clair Carter, who started selling the devices after using a similar product for her children, she said she felt there was a need in the community for the product, which provided peace of mind to seniors and their families. Lasting for two days, the battery on the device could be used in situations where an elderly person with dementia has wandered off, with the contacts linked to the device also able to check in on the GPS location even if the button hasn’t been pressed.
Coming to the buyer fully programmed, all that needs to be done is to turn it on, with Ms Carter also offering her clients booklets and in- person services to set up the devices and to offer advice on what phone carrier to go with.
She is also available for guest speaking in villages or clubs.
The 3G Emergency Alert Pendant is available for $440.
