Camp school lease

Six camp schools across WA, in­clud­ing the Point Peron Camp School in Rock­ing­ham, will be op­er­ated by Fair­bridge WA af­ter the Gov­ern­ment moved to re­lin­quish the schools as part of a suite of ru­ral ed­u­ca­tion cuts.

The State Gov­ern­ment this week an­nounced that Fair­bridge WA, which spe­cialises in camp ac­com­mo­da­tion and out­door ed­u­ca­tion with an emphasis on dis­ad­van­taged youth, will op­er­ate six camp schools in Bridgetown, Dampier, Ger­ald­ton, Kal­go­or­lie, Pem­ber­ton and Point Peron.

The Depart­ment of Ed­u­ca­tion will con­trib­ute $250,000 a year to Fair­bridge WA.
