Rob­beries may be linked

Re­gional de­tec­tives are in­ves­ti­gat­ing two armed rob­beries that oc­curred in Leda and Winthrop on Sun­day night.

About 7.30pm on Septem­ber 23, an armed man with his face cov­ered en­tered a re­tail store on Somerville Boule­vard in Winthrop.

He made threats to­wards the staff mem­ber and a strug­gle en­sured, with the man leav­ing the store empty-handed.

About 8.30pm, an armed man with his face cov­ered en­tered a United Pe­tro­leum ser­vice sta­tion on Feil­man Drive in Leda.

He made threats to­wards the staff mem­ber and went be­hind the counter. He man­aged to re­move cash from the till be­fore leav­ing the store.

In both in­ci­dents the man was de­scribed as 175-180cm tall, medium build, wear­ing dark cloth­ing and with some ma­te­rial cov­er­ing his face.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors are work­ing on whether the in­ci­dents were linked.
