Baldivis Secondary College student Kiara Taylor has returned from the Miss Fashion Week Australia national final in Melbourne with three sashes.

Kiara hit the runway last weekend, winning the teen petite category, miss media category and miss photographic in the national competition, which bridges modelling and pageantry.

“It was a really good experience,” she said.

“Throughout the day, we did workshops and interviews that were separate to the runway.

“We also did a photo shoot where we had one minute to change poses . . . the photographer then chose the best photo out of all the girls, so I was really surprised to win that one.”

Despite narrowly missing out on the overall Miss Teen Fashion Week title, Kiara still qualified to compete internationally in Dallas, Texas.

The 16-year-old said while she was excited to receive the invitation, she would have to turn down the offer for financial reasons.

“Unfortunately, I didn’t win the overall title which had the paid trip to compete in America, but I did still receive an invitation to go,” she said.
