The City of Kwinana’s Adventure Park has received yet another accolade, winning the Green Flag Award at the recent International Parks and Leisure Congress in Melbourne.

The Green Flag Award recognises and celebrates amazing open spaces across the world and is a sign to the public the space boasts the highest possible standards, is well maintained and has excellent facilities and accessibility.

Cr Wendy Cooper and the City’s manager of engineering services Reza Najafzadeh attended the ceremony to accept the Green Flag Award on behalf of the City.

Mayor Carol Adams said the award was hard-earned by a team of dedicated and passionate staff including landscape architects, community development officers, engineers and maintenance crew who had all played a part in making the Adventure Park one of the greatest features of the City.

“We are absolutely delighted to receive the Green Flag Award and it is yet another encouraging mark of success for the Adventure Park,” she said.

It is the fourth award for the park, which won the community program of the year, playspace of the year (over $500k) and park of the year gongs in 2017.
