Deli fined for health breaches
Rockingham’s Kent Street Deli has been fined $20,000 by the Health Department.
Cleanliness, pests and a failure to store foods to protect from contamination were among a rap sheet of convictions handed out to the deli.
The business was also ordered to pay costs of $1800 for the offences after health department inspectors visited the venue in June.
The notice of conviction was handed to the business earlier this month.
Business owner Shannon Whitmore was convicted for failure to store food to protect from contamination, failure to store potentially hazardous food under temperature control, and failure to provide means of effectively drying hands at or near each hand-washing facility.
The Telegraph contacted the owners for comment, but they did not respond by deadline.
