Equine re­hab fund boost

Horse­Power Peel re­ceived a boost last week af­ter Brand MHR Madeleine King pre­sented it with a Stronger Com­mu­ni­ties Grant.

The vol­un­teer com­mu­ni­ty­based or­gan­i­sa­tion re­ceived $16,670 in fund­ing to help it con­tinue pro­vid­ing re­ha­bil­i­ta­tive equine pro­grams and build four universal ac­cess toi­let fa­cil­i­ties at its new Mead Farm clu­b­rooms in Leda.

Mead Farm co-or­di­na­tor Kristin Hosken said the fund­ing would be cru­cial for the con­tin­u­ing op­er­a­tions of Horse­Power Peel.

“This fund­ing means our clients will be able to keep reap­ing the phys­i­cal ben­e­fits, sense of joy and achieve­ment and the self-es­teem boosts our equine pro­grams pro­vide,” she said. Horse­Power Peel is re­lo­cat­ing to Mead Farm over sum­mer.
