Col­lege named run­ner-up in STEM awards

Comet Bay Col­lege was last week named a run­ner-up in the Mer­i­to­ri­ous Lead­er­ship Award as part of the 2018 Gover­nor’s School STEM Awards cer­e­mony.

Es­tab­lished in 2015, the an­nual awards recog­nise WA schools that demon­strate ex­cel­lence in lead­er­ship, teach­ing, col­lab­o­ra­tion and en­gage­ment in STEM ed­u­ca­tion.

Ed­u­ca­tion and Train­ing Min­is­ter Sue Ellery said it was im­por­tant strong STEM skills were in­stilled in stu­dents to pre­pare them for the jobs of the fu­ture.

“Schools can de­velop and fos­ter a life­long pas­sion for STEM learn­ing,” she said.

Comet Bay Col­lege re­ceived a $1000 prize as part of the awards.
