Campaign’s target 100
A Shoalwater pharmacy has helped
12 of its patients lose a combined
17kg over the past three weeks as part of a weight-loss campaign to help make Rockingham 100kg lighter this summer.
According to data from the Department of Health, about two-thirds of WA’s population is overweight or obese.
With several health conditions, including diabetes and high blood pressure, linked to obesity, Pharmacy
777 Shoalwater’s Sam Afsar is hoping to help improve health in Rockingham and the surrounding suburbs through the campaign, which provides weight-loss advice to clients according to their individual needs. “We’re encouraging people to decision to live a healthier life, the market is so saturated with weight-loss programs and diets, and not all of them are suitable for everyone.
“Patients need to know which one would suit their health the best.
“We will work with individuals to create a plan which takes into account all other health conditions and mobility limitations.
“We will also work in collaboration with the patient’s GP and other health professionals so that the best outcome is achieved.”
The campaign began last month and is set to end in February.
