Top awards go to ex­cep­tional pair

The ci­ties of Rock­ing­ham and Kwinana each recog­nised an out­stand­ing res­i­dent at their re­spec­tive Aus­tralia Day cel­e­bra­tions at the week­end.

Rock­ing­ham’s 2019 Com­mu­nity Ci­ti­zen of the Year was awarded to home­less­ness ad­vo­cate Owen Farmer. Chris Artemis was an­nounced as Kwinana’s 2019 Ci­ti­zen of the Year for ser­vices to the com­mu­nity. Mr Artemis re­ceived the award as a long- serv­ing mem­ber of the Kwinana South Vol­un­teer Bush­fire Bri­gade.

Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams and deputy mayor Peter Feasey present the Ci­ti­zen of the Year award to Chris Artemis.
