Unit fire probed
Arson squad investigators are seeking information relating to a fire at a unit on Safety Bay Road in Safety Bay on Wednesday, January 16.
About 1.45am, police and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services were notified of the fire.
The fire caused damage to the living room and a bedroom, estimated at $ 100,000.
Detectives would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident or who has any dash cam footage of the area around the time of the fire, particularly of two men wearing hooded tops who got out of a white twin- cab ute that was parked in the complex carpark close to the time of the fire. Rewards of up to $ 50,000 are available for information that leads to the apprehension and conviction of an arsonist.
Rockingham detectives are investigating a robbery in Port Kennedy on Saturday, January 26.
About 10.30am the victim, a 17- year- old boy, met with a friend in a park adjacent to Nunton Place and Benbecula Loop.
He travelled to the park on his white 2015 Her Chee scooter.
While speaking to his friend, he heard someone try to start his scooter and saw two men at the western side of the park.
One had his scooter and the other had another scooter.
One demanded the keys to the victim’s scooter and produced a knife.
The victim and his friend refused to give them the keys and the two men left with the scooter.
One of the men was described as a fair- skinned man in his early to mid- 20s, 180cm tall, of slim build with yellow- coloured hair, star- shaped tattoos on his neck and wearing a Gucci cap.
The other was described as a fair- skinned male, about 157cm tall, with stocky build and short black hair, wearing black shorts and a black T- shirt.
