Pop- up libraries to public

Southern Telegraph - - NEWS -

The City of Rockingham’s pop- up libraries are set to spread the joy of reading as they make their way around the community.

The libraries offer residents the chance to engage with the services outside of the traditional setting at a variety of locations, giving those who might not usually interact with a library the chance to do so.

Pop- up library stalls are operated by council staff and residents can ask questions, bring their iPads or other tablet devices for demonstrations of eBooks and eMovie downloads, or can simply attend for a friendly chat.

“Here at the City we understand that not all residents may be able to access a library, so we are delighted to be able to bring a small part of the libraries to people instead,” Mr Sammels said.

The pop- up library events will be held at Mike Barnett Sports Complex from 9am- noon on Tuesday, February 26 and Thursday, February 28.
