In­spir­ing women cel­e­brated

Nine- time Par­a­lympic gold medal­list Priya Cooper will head­line an In­ter­na­tional Women’s Day event hosted by Bal­divis Ro­tary Club on Fri­day.

In­ter­na­tional Women’s Day is a day when women are recog­nised for their achieve­ments and is a f fo­cal point in the move­ment for w women’s rights.

A two- course buf­fet- style lun­who cheon will be pro­vided by an award- win­ning caterer, with a com­pli­men­tary glass of sparkling wine to be en­joyed while guests are in­spired and mo­ti­vated by speak­ers who have over­come chal­lenges and achieved suc­cess.

Join­ing Cooper will be speaker Melissa Groe­newold, an Amanda Young Foun­da­tion board mem­ber will share her per­sonal ex­pe­ri­ence of sur­viv­ing meningo­coc­cal dis­ease.

The lunch runs from noon- 2.30pm in Carn­aby Hall, at the Mary Davies Li­brary and Com­mu­nity Cen­tre, Bal­divis. Tick­ets are $ 70.
