Southern Telegraph - - OPINION -

Our February 27 front- page photo and story of retired general practitioner obstetricians Dr Essa Rasool, Dr Ross Jose and Dr Edward Bouverie received an overwhelming response on the Sound’s Facebook page.

Scores of mothers whose children were delivered by one, or more, of the three, and even some of the now grown deliveries, took to the comments section to express their gratitude.

“These doctors are irreplaceable and will be greatly missed in obstetrics in our area not just for their skill but their genuine care,” Wendy Goffage wrote. Tab Johnson added: “Dr Jose and Dr Bouvierre saved both of my children’s lives. I wish them all the happiness in the world. Much love.”

“Dr Jose, you were the best! You delivered my daughter 24 years ago and then my grandson 4 years ago. You were an awesome doctor! Happy Retirement,” Shell Belle wrote.

Blythe Carter added: “Dr Jose was my doctor for my 1st son, but Dr Bouverie was there when I delivered and we experienced watching my baby take his first breath together. I was so lucky to have these doctors, they will be sorely missed in the profession.” “Dr Rasool was a pleasure to have you help me deliver my first baby and your lovely daughter was there for my second baby, ” Ann Balaam wrote. “Thanks for looking after me many moons ago as a child. Happy retirement,” Jordan Lewis wrote.
