Campaigns to sell WA tourism in China
The State Government has confirmed it is assisting travel agents in China to build itineraries for tourists coming to WA, with packages to Rockingham offered as part of the effort.
In State Parliament earlier this month, Shadow Tourism spokeswoman Libby Mettam asked how the Government was working with Chinese travel agents to convert the exposure from Viva La Romance into bookings. Warnbro MLA and Tourism Minister Paul Papalia said the Tourism WA office in Shanghai was working with Chinese travel agents to “build itineraries and engage in co-operative marketing campaigns”.
“Packages including a combination of flights, accommodation and tours will be offered to destinations promoted in Viva La Romance such as Perth, Rottnest Island, Rockingham and Busselton/Margaret River,” he said.
“Additional packages with destinations that resonate well with Chinese tourists such as the Pinnacles, Geraldton/Kalbarri and Hutt Lagoon will also be put forward.”
Mr Papalia also confirmed that campaigns would run to coincide with the screening of the show.
