La­bor’s $2m sports com­plex pledge

Fed­eral La­bor will com­mit $2 mil­lion in fund­ing to­wards the devel­op­ment of turf ovals and sup­port­ing in­fras­truc­ture at Bal­divis Dis­tricts Sport­ing Com­plex if elected to Govern­ment on May 18.

Brand MHR Madeleine King an­nounced on Mon­day a La­bor Fed­eral Govern­ment would com- mit the fund­ing to­wards stage 1 of the City of Rock­ing­ham’s devel­op­ment of the com­plex, fa­cil­i­tat­ing the con­struc­tion of the project.

The State Govern­ment has al­ready com­mit­ted $1.5 mil­lion to stage 1. Stage 1 of the $47.7 mil­lion project will de­liver 8ha of ac­tive open space, flood­light­ing, utility con­nec­tions, road and carpark devel­op­ment and a sports pav­il­ion.
