A Rockingham man has pleaded not guilty to the murder of missing mother Rebecca Anne Delalande.

Chris Blennerhassett appeared in Stirling Gardens Magistrate’s Court via video link from prison last Wednesday.

The 46-year-old was charged with Miss Delalande’s murder in November.

Detectives opened a cold case investigation into the 23-year-old’s 2001 disappearance last year and searched a Bayswater industrial site.

Miss Delalande went missing after a dental appointment on November 5, 2001. She was last seen at a home on Fortunella Grove in Seville Grove soon afterwards.

Mr Blennerhassett pleaded not guilty when asked if he murdered Miss Delalande between November 6 and November 10, 2001.

He was committed for trial and will make his first appearance at the WA Supreme Court on June 10.
