Quilt­ing wares out to mar­ket

The busy mem­bers of Rock­ing­ham Patch­work Group will be sell­ing some of their hand­made wares at a mar­ket stall on Thurs­day at McLarty Hall.

The group, which has about 50 mem­bers, hopes to raise money for lo­cal char­ity the CREW by sell­ing quilts, home goods, ta­ble run­ners, place­mats, shopping bags, wall hang­ings and much more be­tween 9am and 1.30pm.

Pres­i­dent Vivi­enne Doyle said the group made so much through­out the year it had to hold mar­ket days, with all pro­ceeds do­nated to char­ity.

Mem­bers meet ev­ery Thurs­day at McLarty Hall from 9am-3pm, and Mrs Doyle said the group was al­ways on the look­out for new mem­bers.

Those look­ing for fun and fel­low­ship and who may be seek­ing ful­fil­ment from con­tribut­ing use­fully and keep­ing their mind healthy and hands busy are en­cour­aged to join.
