Market supporting reusable bag maker

Stanthorpe Border Post - - WHAT’S ON LIFE -

ON SUNDAY, June 10, we have a whopper market.

Not only is the fabulous Market in the Mountains open at the Exhibition

Centre at the Stanthorpe Showgrounds from 8amnoon, but in the arena is the last day of the Queensland Supreme Sheep Dog Trials.

Enjoy a delicious morning tea from Cafe de Market after checking out all the remarkable handmade offerings from smart stallholders.

And then sit on the veranda and watch these clever working dogs doing their job.

What’s not to like?

The fundraiser of the day for this market is the resourceful Boomerang Bags ladies.

What a brilliant idea to

organise women who like to sew, making cloth shopping bags from scraps.

Local businesses buy these bags and hand them out to customers who need them.

The customer returns the bag to the shop for someone else to use.

There is a raffle to get further funds to buy all those incidentals needed to make more bags, so please support them.
