Govt consideration

Stanthorpe Border Post - - NEWS YOUR SAY -

RECENT newspaper articles have been supporting Uber rides as a healthy opposition to taxis; but let’s consider:

Would politicians be happy if the cost of parliament was reduced by contracting overseas interest to run the parliament? How does the government help Australian businesses when taxis can’t operate without paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for a taxi licence, and then allow Uber to operate without incurring similar cost? Perhaps the pollies will remember when the current class action by taxi operators goes to court. Unfortunately the payout will come from taxpayers’, not pollies’, purses. — Jay Nauss
