Students see the sights on city trip
State member welcomes school to town
THE Year 5/6 students have recently returned from a four-day camp to Brisbane.
They saw many places that some students had not visited before and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Highlights included Parliament House, where local member James Lister met the students at the entrance and welcomed them to Parliament House.
They were then lucky enough to sit in the gallery as Parliament was sitting and listen to the debates which did become a bit noisy at times.
Ice skating, Lone Pine Sanctuary, Southbank, a CityCat ride and a Suncorp Stadium tour were also enjoyed by students.
Accommodation was excellent at the Chandler Lodges and cabins at the Sleeman Sports Centre, where students were able to visit the aquatic centre and have a swim in the warm up pool. A big thanks to Kristian Crisp for being our bus driver and tour director who went above and beyond to ensure the children enjoyed their experiences in Brisbane.
Health and safety
THANK you to Dr Simon Ho who came into P/1/2 last week and talked to the students about emergency situations as part of our HPE unit.
We thank Simon for an engaging, vital lesson.
Thank you also to Jenica Ho, for many hours work over a few weeks to help the students experience tie dye.
Half of the school went home with tie dye clothes today. They look great! Well done. Those dyed today will go home in another week or so. We will have a colour day on Friday of week 9 and students may want to wear some tie dye that day.
CRAFTY: Students have been getting a hands on lesson using tie dye.
