CRICKET: Two games of T20 were played on the weekend due to the Sunday representative game.

Souths played Tenterfield on Friday night and got the job done, putting them top of the table. On Saturday RSL edged out Valleys.

In the night game, Tenterfield batted first and compiled a competitive 5-123 off their 20 overs.

Most of the Tenterfield batsmen got a start, with A Jennings top scoring with 31. Harry Williams was the only multiple wicket taker grabbing two.

Harry Williams (50*) and Alex Cameron (25) opened the batting for Souths.

In the other tie Valleys batted first and quite a few of their players got starts, but no one went on with it. Steve Martin clubbed 20 in the lower order.

They put together a steady all out for 110 in 19 overs. Tom Garland returned 3-22 off his four overs. Duane Lihou blew out the cobwebs to grab three late wickets. In reply RSL chased the total down in 19.1 overs, but there were some nervous moment as they lost seven wickets in doing so. The return of Ross Lupton (34) in the middle order was the defining innings in the RSL chase.

The points table now has Souths and RSL on 16. Wanderers are on 14 with a game in hand. Valleys on eight and Tenterfield two.
