Get into the fes­tive spirit at barn dance

IT’S TIME to put on your best danc­ing shoes and get ready to toe tap the night away at the Broad­wa­ter CWA’s In­au­gu­ral Christ­mas Dance this week­end.

Pre­pare to be en­ter­tained by the Stan­thorpe Pipe Band and Mrs Gwen Chap­man who prom­ise to have you up on your feet and danc­ing.

Pres­i­dent of the Broad­wa­ter CWA Sue Boyce said the night was go­ing to be a big fun barn dance.

“There’s some­thing for ev­ery­one,” she said.

“Mrs Gwen Chap­man plays key­board and old time danc­ing. She plays ox­ford waltz, jives and cha chas.

“The Pipe Band has good mu­sic and it’s all toe tap­ping.”

The event is for the whole fam­ily with sup­per from the CWA ladies in­cluded in the ticket price.

“All the ladies will be cook­ing up a storm of cakes and slices.”

Soft drinks and bot­tles of water will be on sale.

There will be prizes handed out through­out the night and a raf­fle go­ing at the bar­gain price of just $1 a ticket.

“There will also be a lucky spot – who­ever is danc­ing un­der that spot wins a prize,” Mrs Boyce said.

“There will also be a lucky door prize.”

Mrs Boyce said peo­ple at­tend­ing were wel­come to dress up in Christ­mas gear to go with the theme.

All funds raised will go back into the hall which is used by Broad­wa­ter State School, the CWA and for line danc­ing classes.

“We’d like to see as many

peo­ple as pos­si­ble,” Mrs Boyce said.

“Please come along and have a good time.”
