Get into the festive spirit at barn dance
IT’S TIME to put on your best dancing shoes and get ready to toe tap the night away at the Broadwater CWA’s Inaugural Christmas Dance this weekend.
Prepare to be entertained by the Stanthorpe Pipe Band and Mrs Gwen Chapman who promise to have you up on your feet and dancing.
President of the Broadwater CWA Sue Boyce said the night was going to be a big fun barn dance.
“There’s something for everyone,” she said.
“Mrs Gwen Chapman plays keyboard and old time dancing. She plays oxford waltz, jives and cha chas.
“The Pipe Band has good music and it’s all toe tapping.”
The event is for the whole family with supper from the CWA ladies included in the ticket price.
“All the ladies will be cooking up a storm of cakes and slices.”
Soft drinks and bottles of water will be on sale.
There will be prizes handed out throughout the night and a raffle going at the bargain price of just $1 a ticket.
“There will also be a lucky spot – whoever is dancing under that spot wins a prize,” Mrs Boyce said.
“There will also be a lucky door prize.”
Mrs Boyce said people attending were welcome to dress up in Christmas gear to go with the theme.
All funds raised will go back into the hall which is used by Broadwater State School, the CWA and for line dancing classes.
“We’d like to see as many
people as possible,” Mrs Boyce said.
“Please come along and have a good time.”
