Drug operation targets Stanthorpe and nets six arrests:
SIX people were arrested and 13 charges laid during a police operation targeting drug offences.
Last weekend Stanthorpe police executed a number of search warrants in the area during Operation Barracuda.
A 46-year-old man from Britannia St was charged with producing a dangerous drug after officers located a number of marijuana plants in the backyard. He was also charged with possession of a dangerous drug and a utensil.
A number of marijuana plants were under cultivation on Francia Lane, Glen Aplin.
As a result a 24-year-old man was charged with producing a dangerous drug and possessing a dangerous drug, a utensil and tainted property (council road sign) allegedly found at his property.
A 35-year-old man from Thorndale Rd, Thorndale, was charged with possessing a dangerous drug, producing a dangerous drug and possessing a utensil.
A search warrant on an address along the New England Highway, at The Summit, resulted in a 47-year-old person being charged with possession of a dangerous drug and supplying a dangerous drug (ice and marijuana).
At a Marinis Rd, Glen Aplin, address a 57-year-old man was charged with possessing a dangerous drug and a utensil.
On Sunday a search of a Bridge St, Stanthorpe, address resulted in a 42-year-old man being charged with possession of a utensil.
Acting Senior-Sergeant Alan Baker said he was satisfied with this result but said investigations were always ongoing.
“I urge people to contact police, it can be done anonymously, in relation to drug activity,” he said.
“Police will continue to investigate information that is received.”
All charged will appear in court on January 23.
