Drug op­er­a­tion tar­gets Stan­thorpe and nets six ar­rests:

SIX peo­ple were ar­rested and 13 charges laid dur­ing a po­lice op­er­a­tion tar­get­ing drug of­fences.

Last week­end Stan­thorpe po­lice ex­e­cuted a num­ber of search war­rants in the area dur­ing Op­er­a­tion Bar­racuda.

A 46-year-old man from Bri­tan­nia St was charged with pro­duc­ing a dan­ger­ous drug af­ter of­fi­cers lo­cated a num­ber of mar­i­juana plants in the back­yard. He was also charged with pos­ses­sion of a dan­ger­ous drug and a uten­sil.

A num­ber of mar­i­juana plants were un­der cul­ti­va­tion on Fran­cia Lane, Glen Aplin.

As a re­sult a 24-year-old man was charged with pro­duc­ing a dan­ger­ous drug and pos­sess­ing a dan­ger­ous drug, a uten­sil and tainted prop­erty (coun­cil road sign) al­legedly found at his prop­erty.

A 35-year-old man from Thorn­dale Rd, Thorn­dale, was charged with pos­sess­ing a dan­ger­ous drug, pro­duc­ing a dan­ger­ous drug and pos­sess­ing a uten­sil.

A search war­rant on an ad­dress along the New Eng­land High­way, at The Sum­mit, re­sulted in a 47-year-old per­son be­ing charged with pos­ses­sion of a dan­ger­ous drug and sup­ply­ing a dan­ger­ous drug (ice and mar­i­juana).

At a Mari­nis Rd, Glen Aplin, ad­dress a 57-year-old man was charged with pos­sess­ing a dan­ger­ous drug and a uten­sil.

On Sun­day a search of a Bridge St, Stan­thorpe, ad­dress re­sulted in a 42-year-old man be­ing charged with pos­ses­sion of a uten­sil.

Act­ing Se­nior-Sergeant Alan Baker said he was sat­is­fied with this re­sult but said in­ves­ti­ga­tions were al­ways on­go­ing.

“I urge peo­ple to con­tact po­lice, it can be done anony­mously, in re­la­tion to drug ac­tiv­ity,” he said.

“Po­lice will con­tinue to in­ves­ti­gate in­for­ma­tion that is re­ceived.”

All charged will ap­pear in court on Jan­uary 23.
