Cop­per wire thieves tar­get meat­works

WAL­LAN­GARRA po­lice are on the hunt for of­fend­ers who broke into a closed-down meat­works in the early hours of Sun­day.

The of­fend­ers broke into the meat­works on

Longs ln, Wal­lan­garra, at about 4am.

Sergeant Alan Baker of Wal­lan­garra po­lice said the of­fend­ers stole in­su­lated cop­per ca­bles and a quad bike.

Po­lice have been re­view­ing CCTV footage which shows the of­fend­ers wear­ing masks through­out the in­ci­dent. Sgt Baker said the of­fend­ers en­tered a num­ber of locked stor­age fa­cil­i­ties and cut out sec­tions of in­su­lated cop­per wire from the walls.
