WATERMANS Bay teenager Chloe Green (16) is representing Australia in open water swimming in September.

The Churchlands Senior High School student is one of four swimmers selected for the Australian junior open water swimming team.

She will compete with fellow Perth City Swimming Club member Reilly Kennedy (18) at the FINA Open Water World Cup series in China and Taiwan.

Both swimmers won three gold medals from three events at this year’s Australian Open Water Swimming Championships.

Chloe said she was excited to be selected for the national team.

“I’m very happy to be on the team, and feel that some of the hard work is starting to pay off,” she said.

Club president and Olympic open water swimmer Heidi Gan said she was proud of the young athletes.

“They are both hard workers and fantastic contributors to our club and it is great to see their commitment to the sport recognised by their selection on to the Australian team,” she said.

“Both Chloe and Reilly came up through our national age group program, so their selection is a testament to the hard work of our coaches in developing these young athletes.”

Teenager Chloe Green will compete for Australia in the FINA Open Water World Cup championships.
