GREY cabinets in Trigg and Watermans Bay have been transformed into eye-catching artworks as part of a community art initiative this month.

Artist Darren Hutchens, of Fremantle, painted one of the water and wastewater electrical cabinets in Trigg in May as part of the Water Corporation’s ‘splash of colour’ campaign. Secret Harbour artist Samantha Prentice visited Watermans Bay to paint a beachthemed scene with crabs on another.

She has already given 24 Western Power cabinets similar makeovers around Secret Harbour.

The community art program involves transforming seven cabinets across Perth.
