Stirling Times - - Great Outdoors -

POLICE charged four people over a dramatic car chase last week that ended in a crash that brought the Mitchell Freeway to a standstill.

At about 11.25am, police saw a stolen Toyota Kluger vehicle on Ferguson Street in Midvale.

The Kluger had been stolen from Kingsway City Shopping Centre in Madeley on Friday.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle and it is alleged the driver failed to stop and a pursuit commenced, lasting for about 30 minutes. Police aborted following the vehicle when it drove on the wrong side of the Mitchell Freeway.

Just after noon on June 19, the Toyota Kluger collided with a BMW sedan on the Mitchell Freeway in Stirling and was forced to stop.

It is further alleged the driver of the vehicle who was armed with a firearm ran from the vehicle.

He was apprehended by police a short distance away.
