KARRINYUP neighbours are hosting their first Garage Sale Trail event this weekend to recycle unwanted items and help build community spirit.
RESIDENTS of a Karrinyup street are banding together to shed unwanted items.
Neighbours on Clevedon Way are hosting their first Garage Sale Trail event this Sunday from 9am to 1pm.
Martina Hoeppner said it was an ideal way to recycle unwanted items and bring the neighbourhood together.
“It’s an awesome street; it’s a good mix of people with lots of kids of different ages,” she said.
“We’re looking forward to just getting together with our neighbours really.”
There will be a variety of items for sale, including clothing, children’s toys, plants, furniture and kitchenware, and children will be making fresh lemonade. Money raised will be used to host a Christmas street party.
More than 50 garage sales will run locally on October 20 and 21, including at the Recycling Centre Balcatta and all City of Stirling libraries.
Garage Sale Trail cofounder Andrew Valder met Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin recently and encouraged residents to be part of the nationwide event.
