Don’t dump that fish

Stirling Times - - News -

The City is urging residents to help protect our environment by not releasing fish such as koi into our lakes, wetlands or waterways. Deliberate or accidental release has led to epidemic levels of non-native fish throughout Australia. It has a devastating effect on our native wildlife and the environment through competition for food, spread of disease, killing native species and destroying natural habitats.

If you no longer want your fish, please give them to an aquarium, school or nursing home. If you can’t find them a new home, the WA Koi Society has a service to take unwanted koi. Visit www.koiclubwa.com for details.
