TROLVO TENS!

WE will have a full rundown on King of the Street from Heathcote Park next issue, but we’re happy to report that Scott Taylor broke the 10-second barrier in our Toyota 1Jz-powered Volvo on his first pass during pre-event testing! However, attempting to better that time using the transbrake resulted in a twisted axle. Fortunately, a generous local came to the rescue with a loaner axle, and the Swedish Brick was back in action and running for race day. Catch the full episode at YOUTUBE.COM/STREETMACHINETV.

STREET TOK

WE have been buggerising around with Tiktok for a couple of years now, but we’ve decided to get serious with it, with our man Paul Cronin leading the charge. Check it out for lots of event coverage and some behind-the-scenes giggles. Be warned though, Tiktok can be massive time-suck, so we recommend deleting the app if you’ve got a stack of stuff to do in the real world!

VALE FETHERS

WE ARE very sorry to report that long-time Street Machine columnist and contributor David Fetherston passed away last month. Dave was a great friend to the mag and will be sadly missed by all who crossed paths with him. After relocating from Australia to the US in 1984, Dave became SM’S man in America and kept us up to date with the latest and greatest trends in the sport from across the pond. Besides his work with SM, Dave was a prolific contributor to many other mags and published a stack of books – many of which documented the lives and work of some of the greatest figures in our sport’s history. We’ll have a full tribute next issue.
