SLOW CHARGE

A PORTABLE home AC charge cable – the big white handle goes into a socket fitted to your electric car – plugs into any domestic socket to give your electric classic’s battery the juice it demands. But this is the slowest way; you’ll need to charge overnight to get yourself a 200km range. A home wallbox charger that costs about $2000 fitted gives that same 200km range in about three hours. You can only use the public fast-chargers if you give your EV conversion Dc-charging capability. That adds about $2500-3000 to your build cost, but getting that range in 40 minutes is pretty appealing.
