Your weekend best

-

After a week of nine-to-five corporate wear or donning the same uniform, the weekend can be an exciting time to look forward to in terms of fashion.

While it’s easy to assume we would have a cupboard full of weekend wear for coffee expeditions or heading to the shops, it can be hard to put together that “in-between” outfit, that’s better than your active wear but not as nice as party wear. First of all, if you don’t have these staples — grab them: Black skinny or straight jeans Black ankle boots Versatile jacket, whether that’s in a camel colour, black, denim, grey or similar

Skivvy Now that we have the main staples sorted (as well as your additional favourites), here are some easy ways to dress up your weekend wear.

Vests — whether it’s a gorgeous faux fur or a cute puffer vest, these are so easy to throw over a warm skivvy with jeans, and they will keep you toasty.

Scarves — This is by far the easiest way to dress up an outfit. Throw on a scarf and it keeps your outfit fresh, colourful and — most importantly — unique, every single time. They’re also a cheap way to dress up an outfit rather than buying a new top or skirt every time. Continue adding to your scarf collection and be the envy of your friends.

Hats — A gorgeous felt hat is a great way to make a statement on the weekend. They add a unique, fun and dainty touch to your look. Also, keep an eye out for beanies and berets when it gets really chilly.

Dresses, tights and boots — Long-sleeved or warm dresses are absolutely wonderful to have in winter — and so easy. Once you find some that you like, you can have them in the cupboard, pair them with tights or stockings, some groovy staple boots, and you’re set.
