THE PERFECT BROW

-

Amy Jean, the international brow queen who styles the arches of celebrities including Dannii Minogue, Naomi Campbell and Delta Goodrem, shares her tips for achieving the perfect brow. A Well-shaped brow can slim a rounder face, minimise the look of fine lines around the eyes, even take years off your appearance.

Brow expert Amy Jean is considered one of the best brow artists in the world, with salons throughout Australia and international pop up salons in London, Paris, Milan, New York and LA.

We asked her how to raise an eyebrow, beautifully. Should we follow eyebrow trends? If so what is in store for 2017/18? It’s nice to appreciate trends, but we prefer to shape a client’s brows based on considering face and eye shape as well as hair and skin tones. Generally, a thicker brow is a softer look and less ageing than a thin brow. Waxing or tweezing, or a combo of both? Wax to remove the fluff, and tweezing for perfecting angles. What’s the most common mistake women make with their brows? Over-plucking or over applying the wrong colour product. What are the essential tools for beautiful brows? A good quality brush for applying brow powder and a tweezer that works. Is there a formula as to where the brow starts and finishes? Yes, grab a brush to use as a marker. For the start point, hold the brush from the bridge of the nose pointing straight up to the hairline. Where it crosses over with the browline, use a pencil to mark a dot here. For the tails, hold the brush from the base of the nose out towards the temple. Mark a dot that lines up with where the brow line should reach. A little bit of extra length will help widen the eyes and open them up.
