Beauty trends come and go, but even so it can be quite overwhelming to consider the sheer number of trends there are at any given time.

Even from country to country, the biggest beauty and hair trends can vary widely.

Here are just a few of the biggest beauty trends of this season, broken down for ease.

EYELASHES

With probably more volume that you’ve seen before, the on-trend Russian volume eyelash extension technique sees up to eight fine extensions applied on a single eyelash.

HAIR

Blissful news for the busy modern woman, twisted braids and the messy bun are in!

Even more simple, if you want to keep your hair long instead of in a bun, the basic braid is also chic.

For a night out, try the revamped “ondas al agua” (or “waves of the water”), a modern take on those old Hollywood voluminous waves.

LIPS

Wine stain lipstick has been huge in Brazil for a while, but all signs point to this trend flooding Australia soon.

Wine-coloured lipstick has always been classy, but using a lip stain adds that extra bit of pizazz.

CHEEKS

Mostly a trend in Japan for now, using orange blush instead of pink is right now.

If you’re not feeling confident in going all-out, try a peach tone of blush instead.

EYES

The cat eye isn’t going anywhere, it would appear, and neither is glitter.

Thankfully, the glitter trend isn’t as garish as when last seen; more a cute sprinkle on the outer edge of the eye.
