Declutter your wardrobe with these useful tips

Spring is renowned for being the time to clean and declutter. A common criminal being left out of this essential overhaul is the wardrobe — whether we think there’s nothing in there that can go, or it’s simply too overwhelming.

Here are some hard-and-fast tips to help with the latter.

DUST

Dust is an ideal tell-all as to how much you really wear those old shoes.

If there is a nice layer of grey around where the shoes were sitting once you drag them out, or if there is dust over or in them, it’s time to give them up.

Same goes if you disturb a nice lil’ daddy long-legs as you reach in for that long-discarded footwear.

OFF-TREND OR RETRO WEAR

Unless you regularly go to retro-themed parties, these need to go.

Even if you feel the need to commemorate the end of the “good old days” with a ceremonial burning of those neon polo shirts from two decades ago.
