Feel all the passion of a Valentine’s kiss with this modern and seductive make–up trend. Often called ‘cherry lips’ or ‘just bitten lips’, this gradient style concentrates the colour to the inner part of the lip, creating a youthful, subtler version of ombre.

YOU WILL NEED

■ Lip primer ■ Concealer ■ Two shades of pink lipstick or lip gloss (light and darker shade)

■ Setting powder

STEP 1

Prep the lips by applying a lip primer.

This will help moisturise them and make the make–up last longer.

STEP 2

Use a fluffy brush to apply a little concealer to the outer portion of your lips. Blend the concealer lightly towards the centre to fade your lip colour.

STEP 3

Take a soft neutral pink lipstick or gloss and apply it to the centre of the lip, gently fading the colour to the outer edges.

STEP 4

Apply a darker pink lipstick colour once more to the centre and blend the two colours until you achieve a gradient lip look.

STEP 5

Next, place a tissue over your lips.

Using an invisible setting powder and a fluffy blush brush, lightly tap the powder onto the tissue.

The powder will absorb the excess moisture of the lipstick to help keep it in place.

For best results you want a stained look, as opposed to accurate precision.

Use soft edges to give you that ‘just–kissed’ appearance.
