Take a drive through the Gold Coast Hinterland

THEY’RE TAKING ON LIFE’S GREATEST ADVENTURE

-

When Warrick Bidwell wanted to take his daughter, Grace, to a local rodeo, he needed some help.

He knew Amie Reinbott from the gym he attended and, also knowing she was a country girl, asked her to point him in the right direction.

“The three of us ended up going to the Gympie Rodeo together, so our first date was with Grace in tow,” Warrick remembered.

Amie said, as soon as they started talking every day, she started feeling something she’d never felt before.

“I just knew a man of Warrick’s calibre was hard to find and was worth every ounce of love and support I could give him,” she said.

“He is the man I always hoped I’d find, but never knew existed.”

Warrick said Amie inspires him to be the man he is meant to be, and praises her for her support through difficult times.

“She’s strong, capable, adventurous and independent, all while being the most loving, caring and compassionate person I’ve met (did I mention how captivatingly beautiful she is?),” he said.

They dated for two and a half years before tying the knot on September 8 last year, at the Concordia College Lutheran chapel on South Street.

Amie said to be married in the same chapel founded by her great–grandfather, and to stand where her parents had stood when they got married, was a sentimental experience for them both.

“We couldn’t wait to say ‘I do’; we felt so connected to each other and it was wonderful to have our family and friends to share that with,” Warrick said, adding that it was especially lovely to have Grace as flower girl and ring–bearer.

They wrote their own vows, adding their own ‘flavour’ to the ceremony.

“We added a cheeky promise for me to never question the length of Amie’s showers and for her to always laugh at my dad jokes,” Warrick said.

The Royal Hotel in Leyburn hosted the reception, with an authentic country theme and a colour scheme made up of native flowers, navy blue, dusty pink, white, and hessian.

The couple share a love of the Australian bush and a glass of red wine, so they spent their honeymoon in a cabin in the Hunter Valley, followed by a week–long hike in Barrington Tops above the snowline.

Warrick said they’re both keen to start a family together, but not before they’ve “done some more hiking and adventuring”.
