TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF?
I grew up in Toowoomba and have spent most of my life here, except for two years living on the Sunshine Coast and two years living in London.
I love to play golf, am an avid V8 Supercars fan and also love spending quality time with my wife and two young boys.
WHY PHOTOGRAPHY?
While living in London, I worked for Aston Martin and began photographing the cars for prospective buyers and for dealership events, which fuelled the urge to turn photography into work.
WHAT’S GREAT ABOUT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY?
Our wedding day was the most exciting day of our lives and we have photos on our walls as a constant reminder of how magical it was.
I love that I can now be the person to capture the beginning of two people’s lives together and help them to cherish those memories.
IS IT HARD TO CAPTURE ‘THE PERFECT MOMENT’?
With everyone owning a smart phone, it can be difficult to capture perfect moments when guests want to do the same, but I do my best to not let it affect the image I capture.
More weddings are ‘unplugging’; almost forcing guests to live in the moment, not through their phone.
ANY ADVICE?
It takes a lot of time and dedication to make photography a career.
You need to spend hours at the computer, editing, answering emails, doing your own marketing and, at the same time, not forget why you love it and do it.
