HALL OF FAME HONOUR
St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba was awarded the honourable inductee of the Hall of Fame at the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce annual Heritage Bank Business Excellence Awards.
The award recognises long-standing Toowoomba-based businesses that have excelled in their industry, along with their enduring contributions to the overall Toowoomba region community.
CEO, Kathryn Mckeefry accepted the induction on behalf of St Vincent’s Hospital in recognition of the support the hospital has given to the community over the past 97 years.
St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba was established in 1922 by the Sisters of Charity and has grown to become the largest acute private hospital on the Darling Downs and Toowoomba’s only private Emergency Centre, open 24 hours/seven days a week.
The Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce has inducted a Hall of Fame recipient annually to notable businesses and organisations in our community.
Previous recipients showcase a prestigious list including Wagners, Hutchinson Builders, Betros Bros, Weis, Taylor’s Removals and Stahman Farms.
Businesses are nominated by the Toowoomba Chamber Board and are chosen and critically assessed by the board across all areas of the business and their commitment to engage with the economic vitality of our region.
“St Vincent’s Hospital, Toowoomba continues to live out the Mission it was established with,” Kathryn explained.
“Staff strive daily to uphold the dignity of every person entrusted to their care.
“St Vincent’s was built with the love and generosity of the people of the Darling Downs and South Western Queensland.
"During its life here in Toowoomba, it has contributed much to the broader community from a polio clinic established by Sr Kenny in the 1930s to its home nursing service in the 1960s and 1970s, to a new wound care project with Goolburri Aboriginal Health Advancement Co in 2019.
"St Vincent’s has always made a mark in the lives of local community members,” Kathryn said.
